About
Our fESTIVAL
This is the 22nd Moniaive Folk Festival, and we are really pleased to be able to put it on again and welcome you all back.
The festival is organised and run by a small committee of volunteers supported by many members of the local community.
We do our best to respond to emails as quickly as we can, but sometimes it takes a little bit longer so please be patient.
Information
There will be no ticket sales for anything this year. Instead we are putting faith in your support, honesty and appreciation for what we are putting on and asking for suggested donations as follows:
Camping - £10 per person per night (under 16’s free)
Coach House evening concerts (7pm onwards) - £10 per person per evening
Beer garden evening concerts (8pm onwards) - £10 per person per evening
Donation points will be made clear.
Please note there are no ATM facilities in the village. You can use cards when paying for things, and cash back is available, but it is advisable to bring cash also. We are looking into getting some card readers; we will provide updates on this when we have them.
This year the festival office and shop will be on the High Street in the community space called The Hive. The festival office is where you can find out more information about the weekend’s events.
We are grateful, as always, to all our backers and volunteers who help in putting on this celebration weekend. Our festival brings much needed funds to our small rural community. Please do your bit by giving donations for the concerts and camping; buying local; and perusing our new merchandise in the Festival Shop.
The village has a grocery store; an Italian restaurant; a garage with fuel available (closes at 1 p.m. on Saturday & closed all day Sunday); The Hive community shop - crafts, paintings, books, clothes etc; and two pubs, both hosting sessions all weekend.
Thank you for coming to the Festival. We hope you enjoy yourselves and we look forward to welcoming you all again next year.
Finally, may we suggest you take a look at what our friends over at Girvan Folk Festival have got going on the weekend before us, and check this great link out too.
camping
Festival Camping is available right by the venues.
Please be aware that our festival is set in the heart of the village so please do be considerate to our friends and neighbours. The camping field is a working farm field so please obey the following rules:
The building of fires is prohibited.
Please dispose of your rubbish in the bins provided and leave your pitch clear.
No amplified or loud music on the campsite.
All dogs must be on leads and cleaned up after.
If these rules are difficult for you to abide by, we will ask you very kindly and persistently to leave.
We would be grateful if you would avoid parking and sleeping in camper vans / motor homes in either the village car park or streets – we do receive complaints from village residents about this, and their support is crucial to the future of our festival.
We have a free friendly tractor tow on hand on Sunday if you get stuck.
The campsite will be open from noon on Thursday until noon on Monday. Access to the site is via a lane next to the primary school. Please keep this lane clear as it is used by school buses and be aware that the area is busy, especially when school finishes at 3:15 pm.
